High-End Swiss Watch Brands
Welcome back to the second edition of my blog on Swiss watch brands! In this edition, I will be covering more high-end Swiss watch brands. The brands I will cover in this blog are Rolex, Omega, and Jaeger-LeCoultre.
Rolex is a very well-known and iconic Swiss luxury watch brand. The brand was founded in 1905 in London. In 1919, Rolex moved to Geneva, Switzerland. Rolex is famous for creating the first waterproof wristwatch, the Oyster. Rolex is also famous for its professional watches, such as the Submariner and the GMT-Master II (pictured). Rolex is one of my all-time favorite Swiss watch brands. The brand has a long history of creating some of the most famous and functional watches on the market. In recent years, the demand for Rolex has skyrocketed. For most Rolex models, you will have to join a waitlist before you can purchase.
Omega: The first watch worn on the moon
Omega is another well-known high-end Swiss watch brand. The brand was founded in 1848 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. Omega is known as a leader in the Swiss watch industry. Omega is famous for the Speedmaster Professional (pictured) being the first watch worn on the moon. Omega is the official timekeeper for the Olympics. Omega is also famous for being featured in the James Bond movies since 1995.
Jaeger-LeCoultre: One of the few watch brands that produces virtually all components in-house
Jaeger-LeCoultre, or JLC, is the last high-end Swiss watch brand that I will be covering. JLC was founded in 1833 in Le Sentier, Switzerland. The brand is known for creating some of the most complex and finely crafted movements in horology. JLC designs and manufactures its own movements along with producing virtually all the components of the watch in-house. JLC's movements have also been used in ultra-high-end brands such as Patek Phillippe, Audemars Piguet, and Vacheron Constantin (which I will cover in my next blog). I have a lot of respect for this brand and continue to be amazed at what they create.
Thank you for reading!
