Entry Level Swiss Watch Brands
Hello and welcome to my blog, where I will be covering some of the most well-known Swiss watch brands along with some of the most underrated. My goal for this blog is to give you a good overview of the brands that make up the Swiss watch industry. The brands I will be covering in this edition are Certina, Tissot, and Longines.
Certina:
Certina is perhaps one of the most underrated Swiss watch brands despite it delivering exceptional quality at a competitive price point. Certina is also my personal favorite Swiss watch brand. It is one of the more affordable Swiss watch brands. Certina was founded in 1888 in Gretchen, Switzerland. Certina has built a reputation for precision and durability. Certina is famous for the DS Concept (Double Security), meaning the movement is more protected from shock. Certina is part of the Swatch group along with Tissot and Longines. In my opinion, Certina is one of the best Swiss watch brands you can buy.
Tissot:
One of the better-known entry-level Swiss watch brands is Tissot. Tissot was founded in 1853 in Le Locle, Switzerland. The brand is famous for tradition and innovation in the Swiss watch industry. Tissot is widely known as an affordable Swiss watch brand with exceptional quality. The brand has also been the official timekeeper for the NBA since 2015. Tissot offers a wide variety of quartz and automatic watches. Tissot is one of the best Swiss watch brands for first-time buyers in my opinion.
Longines
One of the more expensive entry-level Swiss watch brands is Longines. Longines was founded in 1832 in Saint-Imier, Switzerland. The brand is known for elegance and prestige in the Swiss watch industry. The brand is associated with timing sports events such as horse racing, skiing, and tennis. Longiness offers great value in its timepieces. These watches often come with a higher price tag, but to many enthusiasts, it is well worth it.
